U10 & U12 BOYS AND GIRLS THROUGH TO REGIONAL FINALS
At the Devon Championships held at the club on the 13th and 20th of March the club fielded a boys and girls U10 side and two U12 boys and girls sides. In the U10s the girls defeated Ashmoor comforably before a fine 2-0 win over Isca
in what was a very tough end to end encounter. Well done to the girls and coach John Clarke for this fine achievement. In the boys tournament wins over Ashmoor, Exe and Dart set up a final game with Isca to decide the county winners. The boys battled hard but were beaten by the better side 3-0 to finish runners up joining the girls in the regional finals at Clifton College on the 1st May.
In the U12s the girls faced a tough programme winning al their games in pool a including 1-0 wins over Exe and Plymouth before beating Plymouth B in the semi and losing to a superior Isca side to finish as runners up. A big welldone to all the girls from both the A and B squads and coaches Kieran and John and the support from Rachel, Charlotte, Louise, Neil and all the parents.
In the boys event coaches Mark and Matt were in confident mood leading into the event with a strong/competitive A and B squads even with a few players absent. The A started slowly but quickly got into full swing winning all their games apart from a 0-0 draw against Isca who had their keeper to thank following numerous efforts which were saved. Following 7 wins and a draw the As retained the Devon Champs to the delight of all the players. The Bs were certainly not to be denied and followed up with 4 wins and a draw to finish an impressive fourth. Well done to all the boys and a massive thank you to Mark, Matt, Pete, Alison, Rachel and all the parents who supported.
The boys and girls U12s will compete at the regional finals in Bristol on the 17th April.
