Former Plymouth Marjon Hockey Club player Giselle Ansley will be representing GB in the Olympic Final against Holland tonight, the first ever time the GB women's side have reached this stage of the competition.Ansley was a product of the clubs thriving youth system which has over 250 members based at the University of St Mark & St John. Rising swiftly through the ranks Ansley played for the clubs 1st team for three seasons before moving to study at Loughborough University. Ansley currently plays her hockey for national premier league side Surbiton in London enabling her to train weekly with the GB squad based at Bisham Abbey.Ansley represented England U18s in 2009-10 while with Plymouth before progressing to the U21 squad and made her full England debut in 2013. Plymouth Marjon club coach Jamie Oxley said "Giselle is a fantastic role model for Plymouth youngsters in hockey and sport in general. She has proved what can be achieved if you are determined and work hard. The club is extremely proud admits Oxley of what Giselle and her GB women's team mates have already achieved and hope they can go one better tonight and secure the gold medal".
