Match Report | PLYMOUTH Marjon produced their best first-half performance of the season on the way to beating Truro 5-1 in the West of England & South Wales Premiership. From the first whistle the Reds were in total command with Sam Blonden, Matt Bell and Matt Bodily going close. Plymouth's dominance paid off in a blistering six-minute spell, scoring three quick fire goals on the counter. George Thomas opened the scoring after 13 minutes from close range, Matt Bodily roofed home a minute later and Ben Anning ghosted in to score at the far post on 19 minutes to put the Reds 3-0 ahead. In the second half the game was put beyond Truro after defender Seb Ansley teed up Anning to slide in and deflect the ball past the Truro 'keeper. A brief lapse enabled Truro to pull a goal back before Matt Butt added Plymouth's fifth goal with five minutes left on the clock. Plymouth coach Jamie Oxley said: "Our counter-attacking play was simply too hot to handle. We got players forward in numbers and could have scored 10 had we converted the chances we created." After two home wins in a row to start the new year, Plymouth's consistency will be tested by next Saturday's trip to Bristol to play eighth-placed Robinsons.
