| Well done to all the U12 boys who represented the club at the the new U12 clubs regional championships at Millfield school. The team narrowly missed out on goal difference after losing the final game to qualify for the national championships in Nottingham. The day started very well with a 2-0 win over Bournemouth who went onto to secure second spot on goal difference. Dan Smith and the sides star player of the tournament Thomas Price scored. In the second game Plymouth were unable to find a way past Swindon drawing 0-0. In their third game Plymouth cruised to a 4-0 win over Penzance, Matt Smith 2, Thomas Price and Sam Skelton all on target. A 2-1 win over Kingsland from Herefordshire with goals from Price and Dan Smith left Plymouth looking in contention with 3 games left. A 1-1 draw against Bath Buccs after Thomas Price scored a fine opener inside the first minute was followed up by a 2-0 win over Wotton-Under-Edge, Matt Smith from a penalty corner and a 5th for Price. In their final game the team played second placed Avalon from Somerset knowing a draw would see them qualify. The local side took a 2-0 lead only for Dan Smith to scored a well worked corner. Pressing for the equaliser as the team started to tire Avalon scored a third to secure the title. The team represented the club with real credit playing some fine hockey, well done; Dan Smith, Matt Smith(C), Ben Russell, Sam Skelton, John Madar, Thomas Price, Jack Knight, Adam Whitfield. |
